The art of ʻulana lauhala or weaving pandanus leaves has been practiced in Hawaii for generations.
My grandmother was a weaver, but only in the last few years have I had the opportunity to undertake the study of ʻulana and I am enamoured and honored to be a haumana of this noble practice.
The circle has always been a symbol of timelessly and wholeness.
The Lau Poai Necklace symbolizes that simple totality.
